A brand new website and system for the UK’s oldest Buddhist Temple
Buddhapadipa Thai Temple is the UK’s oldest Thai Buddhist Temple and is simply beautiful to visit. Just a stones throw from Wimbledon Common, set among a lovely neighbourhood of properties, the Temple is a place of tranquillity, reflection and meditation.
Mark, the founder of LogicSpot has been Buddhist since living in Thailand many years ago and living near the Temple a number of years ago, would visit regularly. We have provided the services for Buddhapadipa Thai Temple gratis for many years and love to see the site occupy number one position on Google for all prominent search phrases, and be a website that has a large following and hits on a daily basis.
Website redesign and custom development
We redesigned their website from ground up. Their existing website had a large many 10K following daily but wasn’t easy to navigate and was showing its age. We built on top of a bespoke content management system, allowing the staff to manage their events calendar in a few clicks, as well as Daily Dhamma teachings and many other areas of the website.
We wrote bespoke transfer routines to scrape the content, headings and metadata from their existing 4,500 webpages and transfer them into the new CMS without any work from the Temple. We then search engine optimised every page and moved about 50% of the content to a new, simpler navigation structure … but then wrote 301 redirects for every page that had moved! Phew!
