JMD Training is a superb IT training company, providing tailor-made training courses, normally on client site to a variety of clients both near and far. It had an aging static HTML website, with a corporate look and feel and a low volume of visitors … but a passion to whoop all her competitors and continue to deliver a great, personal service.

Increase traffic to website – search engine optimisation for London business

The founder and owner of the company, Janet, approached us in October 2010 to look at getting her more traffic and sales through her website and we started a search engine optimisation (SEO) service for her on a monthly basis. We only focussed on natural/organic listings, and within 6 weeks had secured NUMBER 1 POSITION IN GOOGLE for her key search term Personal Computer Training. At the time of writing this (4 months later) JMD Training is still number on in Google for that phrase, but we have also gone on to make enormous strides for her other important key phrases – going from outside top 100, to top 10 for a large number of phrases. We’re now optimising her website against 6 keywords at a time through all our ethical and straightforward techniques – we know they work and they produce results.

Website redevelopment for IT Training company

Our search engine optimisation was going so well with her – it was going beyond what was initially planned.  Because we were engaging with Janet on a weekly basis and making recommendations in many areas that were way beyond just SEO, Janet was seeing her site, and her business in a new light.  It offered way more than was originally targeted when the site was developed years before.  It had grown, her audience had shifted but the way JMD Training was represented on the website didn’t match the business any more.  So, we carried out a series of conversations, exercises and meetings that had Janet business planning.  At the end of the sessions, she asked us to redesign her website from scratch. We developed a new brand for the company that moved away from the corporate-only previous approach to something that was more approachable and friendly.  The brand was applied to a new website design that just worked from the off (except some minor tweaks), and while the design was being built into a site, we worked with Janet on a content strategy.

Content strategy – from 30 pages to over 100 pages in days

We wireframed the website and built out all key areas.  We identified every single page that needed to be built, then Janet, in every spare moment while she was not training, wrote the webpages in our shared client area.  We pulled in that content together into the new content management system, and married up the development work and the site very quickly came together.

Search engine optimisation – a second time!

The new website was search engine optimised from the start.  Very fast page load, superb content, technically great server and page setup.  Sitemaps are now automatically built and sent to search engines, there’s no errors anywhere on the site and we redirected all content from the old website, page by page, to the new website, in order to try and retain the existing, high, search engine rankings.

Result?

A superb, simple website, a great joint project and a very satisfied client.

Mark and his team have done an amazing job with my website. Before even thinking about designs, he asked what I was hoping my business to achieve in the next three years, and made me think about how I wanted to position myself in the marketplace – life coach as well as web developer!

We then discussed colour schemes, etc. and LogicSpot came back with an initial design, which was contemporary and different from all the other training companies out there. I asked for certain tweaking of colours, which caused no problems.

Mark took my original website and copied many of the pages on to the new sitJane for me, with me then taking his lead and copying over the rest. He also suggested improvements to the wording on various pages, which were always well thought out. I have bothered him with scores of questions, asked him to make changes to things I didn’t feel happy with and needed help in getting to grips with WordPress, but Mark kept his cool throughout, always answering speedily and professionally.

The website launched this week and I’m now looking forward to increased business for JMD Training. Many thanks, Mark and all at LogicSpot

Before launching on SEO with LogicSpot, my web site had been drawing in local business, but nothing further afield. Their SEO made me realise that I could be positioning myself in a wider market with better use of keywords. It also made me have a fresh look at my web site in terms of the local market and made me realise that there were several key phrases I would never get found for, thereby encouraging me to add many extra pages to the site for SEO purposes.

I had not been aware of the use of submitting articles to directories before; this meant I was missing out on inbound links to my site. It has been very much a learning curve for me, but my website is now much higher up the Google listings, thus generating more enquiries.
