Launching our latest Magento 2 website:

It’s always a special feeling when we go live with a project we’ve put so much time, care and effort into – and I know the feeling is shared by our clients. It’s therefore safe to say that we are ecstatic to introduce to you, the launch of our latest Magento 2 website that we’ve built and designed from scratch – Boodles. Are you looking to re-platform to Magento 2? Here’s what we delivered for Boodles.

Upgrading Magento 1 to Magento 2

Due to the Magento 1 end of life and a need for Boodles to not only revolutionise the design of their site but also move their older platform into one where the CMS can be edited with much more ease, it made total sense for Boodles to re-platform to Magento 2. We upgraded them from Magento Community version 1.x, to Magento 2 Open Source (formerly Community).

Re-platforming has dramatically improved the site speed and page loading times, which Boodles expressed a desire to boost.

A site worthy of the Boodles brand

The existing Boodles website was in need of a refresh to align with their luxury brand presence.  Their brand has evolved and their latest state-of-the-art retail outlet on Sloane Street is testament to that shift compared to their existing website. Boodles wanted to tell their story in a more engaging and emotive manner – not only improving content for site visitors but also for search engines.

Working closely with the Boodles team we designed and planned a new and improved customer journey for the site. We harnessed Boodles rich imagery and worked with the goal in mind of designing the new site to offer Boodles luxurious offline customer experience for online customers. Catering for the increasing number of mobile users, the new site improves browsing and purchasing journeys as well as easier to book in-store consultations.

I don’t know who was more exacting around the design; the brand ambassadors of Boodles or our in-house designer!  Either way, both the client and ourselves spent a lot of time pixel-pushing many pages – exceeding beyond the standard design process of a typical Magento site.

LogicSpot Design

In Summary

The site has taken a while to launch, but was delivered on time.  The site performance is much improved, the design wholly on-brand and the LogicSpot-specific, CMS experience now allows Boodles to be in charge of their site and content whenever they wish, from an easy-to-use, drag and drop interface.

We’re all delighted with the site.  The project lead received a call from overseas one hour after go-live from the board-level stakeholder … he shouldn’t have been nervous answering, as he was calling to congratulate and thank the team and get ready to organise a well-deserved drink together to celebrate!
