Business as (un)usual

One thing is for certain- times are uncertain!

As a business, we are now working fully remotely from the comfort and safety of our own homes. We are well equipped to do so and have everything we need to continue business as usual and all our services remain unaffected.

With most of us still *trying* to adjust to working from home, balancing home schooling with parenting and fitting in some form of exercise as often as possible, it can be difficult to even think about downtime and shopping.

But, it’s a buyers market out there in the world of eCommerce at the moment. Online merchants are going above and beyond to keep you stocked up with the essentials, and ensure your time in isolation is as comfortable as it can be- and that includes easing the strain on your wallet too. Recognising that a number of people have and will be financially hit by the current crisis, we’ve seen an incredible display of compassion from online retailers.

What our clients are doing to help:

Antibacterial case

This may not be a new product from Tech 21, but with 20% off their antibacterial phonecases, it’s a total no brainer at this time. The offer runs until midnight on Aoril 30th, so get in quick.

Built-in antibacterial protection reduces microbes by up to 99.99% so you can protect your phone drop after drop while the built-in antibacterial protection helps keep your case hygienically clean.

In addition to this offer, they are giving all NHS healthcare workers a 60% discount as a way of Thank You for all their hard work stating:

“There is absolutely no way we can thank our healthcare workers enough for the selfless work they are doing during this pandemic. But while our healthcare heroes have been saving lives, we’ve been thinking of ways we can give back and show how much we appreciate them. From today we will be offering all healthcare workers across the globe 60% off our antimicrobial phone cases. Just DM or email us at with your work ID and we’ll send you a unique 60% off code. With love from the Tech21 team.”

20% off Spring Sale

You can also make the most of a 20% discount on other products in their Spring Sale, also running until midnight on April 30th. As of today’s date (31st March) their warehouse is open for business as usual, and currently delivering all orders as normal.

Luxury furniture store Chaplins is currently offering 15% off selected office furniture in a bid to “Make staying at home the best choice”.

With the temporary closure of their London showroom, they have made a promise to increase online offerings and continue deliveries and production as usual. For larger orders however, delivery and installation has been paused until safe to do so.

You can still browse their products in detail with the introduction of virtual tours and product demos with their Creative Director- where you can see what’s on display, the finishes available and how certain products function.

Whilst you have the time and fancy a longer chat about a residential or commercial project, you are still able to check out the Interior Planning Service and book a video consultation.

Tom Dixon

After also closing the London showroom, stores and restaurants Tom Dixon have since launched online video channel TOMorrow Channel

“Introducing TOMorrow Channel, Tom takes us through the changes made at our headquarters in Kings Cross and Coal Office Restaurant. Serving their last service before the lockdown. ‘The farmers are still looking for somewhere to sell. All the restaurants have closed, but we can set up a food distribution service right here, at the Coal Office and we can get fresh food from the farm, to the City. Tomorrow.”

Sharing their latest ideas, finding out what’s happening with friends around the globe and to stop cabin fever setting in during isolation!

Retail in general

Many retailers have been pushing gift card options as an alternative to buying gifts at this time,  ‘pre ordering’ items to be dispatched once we regain normality, or suspending payments as a gesture of good will and kindness.

For creatives and freelancers who rely on costly editing software while working from home during the outbreak, Adobe is briefly offering two free months of Creative Cloud access for existing subscribers. More details can be found here

Magento (also an Adobe company) has announced offerings to help small and mid-sized companies- from 3 Months Free Magento Commerce to Free Magento Training. See the full list here

It is also worth noting some of the hundreds of companies currently offering exclusive deals to key workers and NHS staff during lockdown. From Uber eats and Deliveroo‘s free meals and delivery along with Pret‘s free coffees- to HiyaCar‘s free car hire so workers can avoid public transport, and Airbnb covering the cost of rentals for the families of those exposed to the virus.

‘We’re all in this together’ never felt so true!
