The Conran Shop, founded in 1974 by Sir Terence Conran, is an iconic British brand, internationally renowned for its exceptional edit of interior design and furniture. It offers leading luxury products from designers all over the world and along with its own brand offering of contemporary homewares. The Conran Shop first made a name for itself when it revived the historic Michelin House building in Chelsea.
The Conran Shop launched their ecommerce site in 2014, and they were looking for a new full service Magento agency to help them deliver their digital road map. With famous, well-established shops in London, Paris and Tokyo, ecommerce represented a new opportunity for the business.
We took on The Conran Shop as our client in May 2015, and we have worked closely with their digital team to understand and internalise their business goals.
When we first took over The Conran Shop’s existing Magento website we performed an in-depth site audit looking at performance, the code base, security and SEO. We took over a backlog of outstanding work and identified urgent priorities on site based on their impact on trading and revenue.
After three months together we had completed this work and re-focussed our priorities. We carry out new development work with Conran each month and respond quickly to ongoing support requests. We also run mini-projects alongside their SLA so we can tackle bigger pieces of work quickly.
The team at The Conran Shop take a data-driven approach to their ecommerce site and we have worked together to identify the KPIs that are going to drive the business forward. We use this data to decide where to focus our efforts, and what actions to take to improve digital performance. We report monthly on these metrics and review them in full in a face to face quarterly meeting.
Magento and WordPress Integration
Conran had been producing blog content on a unique website that was separate to conranshop.co.uk. This meant they were struggling to benefit from existing traffic to this site, and the main site wasn’t getting any of the SEO impact from the content being produced. We have delivered a new blog via a totally seamless, multi-site WordPress integration. Products can be easily featured on individual blog posts via a SKU-lookup, and blog posts are being fed through to the homepage. For now, only the blog is being handled via WordPress, however with the integration in place we can easily move other content to be managed via WordPress as required in future.
Introducing the blog to the main site has improved engagement metrics across the site and we can now track the commercial impact that specific blog content has on the site.
The Conran Shop are working hard to evolve their business to be Omnichannel – this is a company-wide endeavour that we are closely involved with. This involves a large-scale integration of their ERP system with Magento, rebuilding the way new products are imported on site, and optimising their customer service. We have worked with them to completely re-structure their product catalogue, built new product import methods and are currently re-addressing Click & Collect. We have the resources in-house to provide consultancy around these tasks and are able to develop their Magento platform in a way that works with the rest of their business.
Logicspot are not just an agency, they are and behave like true partners. They went the extra mile to understand our business from day one and have quite literally changed our online fortunes, delivering +100% growth on our UK website. We have big ecommerce plans going forward and I wouldn’t trust them to anyone else.
