Magento 2 PWA re-platform and re-design – a touch of class, delivered at pace

Sophie Conran is an established and growing player in the world of interior design and homeware and well-known for their stunning, imagery and photoshoots. Led by Sophie herself, the team are all too aware of how important their website is to their business growth so they needed a lightning fast site and a design face-lift to really showcase their products and elevate the brand.

Unhappy with their site’s overall UX, cart abandonments, checkout experience (off-site payments) and the added knowledge that their Magento 1 platform support was ending in June 2020 they knew they had to do something about it, and fast.

A shockingly fast solution

The Sophie Conran team came to LogicSpot via a recommendation and through a detailed consultation and scoping process it was decided to not only complete a migration to Magento 2 (including customers, orders, catalogue price rules and discounts) with a full site re-design, but to enhance the new site with a PWA layer and CDN in order to dramatically improve page load speeds.

Bells, whistles and then some

Delivered on the Magento Cloud platform, a streamlined checkout process, SEO pre-rendering service and Google Tag Manager, the site is packed full of optional extras under the hood to make the site scalable. On the front-end, the new category and product pages all feature beautiful banners and product imagery and shoppers are further enticed to explore the site with “Style with” and “You may also like” products using the Magento Upsell and Related products blocks.

Content management and order fulfilment was labour intensive so we also built the site’s CMS pages using Magento’s native Page Builder and removed the clunky pre-order and “notify when back in stock” functionality, replacing it with a much more streamlined and sophisticated solution so they can handle split shipments, forecast stock and automate customer communications with ease.

Integrations

The project management, the scoping, development and testing was all led by the LogicSpot team with the ERP and Sophie Conran key stakeholders updated on progress at all stages of the development and testing stages. The result was a much easier to maintain solution all managed within Magento itself.

Customer care and management

We providing key training on Content Management, Magento 2, Product Data Management and had weekly catch-ups and project updates so that the Sophie Conran team were confident when preparing the site for UAT, go-live and beyond.

In summary

We’re delighted to have delivered a robust platform migration and lightning fast site for them, as well as form a partner relationship to help guide them through their next stages of their ecommerce journey.  Let’s get going!
