Magento Live Europe was a 3 day event in Amsterdam. An opportunity to network and learn from merchants, fellow partners and Magento themselves. There were almost 100 sessions to choose from, so we’ve tried our best to narrow it down and give you a taste of what you could expect if you are interested in going to The Summit in Las Vegas next March.

Here are our highlights of just some of the great presentations.

Google Shopping Best Practices

Bethan from Vervaunt shared her insights, having managed clients of all sizes over the years, ranging from Nintendo  to BMW, and gave a granular description of how to manage your campaigns on Google Shopping touching on: product feed management and optimization through Magento, analytics and customer data analysis using Magento Business Intelligence tools. Summarising with some top tips in preparing your Google Shopping campaigns for peak.

Amazon Best Practices

With the recent announcement that the Amazon Integration allowing UK merchants to automatically manage and maintain their inventory right from the Magento admin panel. As merchants and brands look to sell on the worlds largest marketplace what does it take to win on Amazon?

Helmut Rieder, EMEA CEO of WPP’s Centre of Excellence for Amazon, brought 14 years’ experience working with brands and retailers maximizing their sales on Amazon sites across Amazon’s across Europe. Again, there were some fantastic tips on everything from product listing to store configuration.

B2B Commerce Track: The Complexities of B2B

Laura Hodson is Head of Design in Monsoon Consulting, working with large B2C and B2B organisations across many industries. Laura’s expertise is User Experience (UX) Design (using the latest user research methods) and User Interface (UI) Design with a strong emphasis on brand consistency and merging creativity with technology.

Laura Hodson examined the key differences between B2C and B2B, the complexities of design and user experience within the B2B realm and discussed how these complexities are resolved.  A really engaging session really playing to Laura’s crossover strengths both around the psychology of site visitors, the user interface and the user experience.

Strategic Planning: Migrating to Magento Commerce

This was an interactive discussion for business leaders and project managers, Ray Bogman (Adobe Solutions Architect) and Jos Peiters (Project Manager) discussed how to best lead your migration from Magento 1 to Magento Commerce 2. They covered how to build a business case and achieve consensus within your company, best practice frameworks for preparing for the migration and the strategies to control cost, accelerate speed to market while avoiding common pitfalls. We all left with a sound understanding of the timeline and steps needed for a successful migration to Magento Commerce 2.

Amazon Sales Channel Extension for Amazon’s U.K. Marketplace

Amazon Sales Channel in Magento is now available for the Amazon U.K. Marketplace, with support for additional European territories arriving next year.

The extension for Magento Commerce and Open Source removes the barriers to entry for merchants that are trying to gain a strong position with Amazon while also managing their owned channel.

It allows brands to quickly and easily integrate their catalog, establish a bi-directional data flow and start managing listings from their Magento admin (see separate blog post).

Early Access Program for Product Recommendations Powered by Adobe Sensei

A Product Recommendations feature powered by Adobe Sensei will be directly integrated into Magento Commerce. Early Access Program for this powerful feature will be launched in January, allowing merchants to leverage the feature directly within the Magento admin.

Magento Commerce on Microsoft Azure

We’re bolstering our multi-cloud capability by making Magento Commerce available on both Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Magento Commerce will soon be offered on both Azure and AWS as the underlying provider, Magento merchants will have the flexibility to pick the cloud provider of their choice to continuously deploy innovations and not worry about the day-to-day management of their infrastructure. The Early Access Program for Azure support will begin next year.

Adobe Stock Integration with Magento

The community engineering team is continues to make great progress in integrating Adobe Stock with Magento Commerce and Open Source. The highly anticipated feature will provide a searchable interface within the Magento admin to discover, preview and embed licensed stock images within the platform.

The integration will give Magento merchants with an Adobe Stock subscription quick and easy access to Adobe Stock’s more than 130 million assets, including images, templates, 3D assets, over 8 million stock videos, and over 750,000 Premium collection images.

General Availability of Magento Commerce 2.3.3 and Magento Open Source 2.3.3

The latest version, released in early October, includes substantial performance improvements as well as security enhancements, which allows to remain compliant with new directives and regulations.

Starting with 2.3.3, Yotpo’s leading customer ratings, reviews, and visual marketing capabilities will be available as a bundled extension. Now merchants can more quickly tap strategic partner technologies directly within the Magento code, without needing to download and install them from the Magento Marketplace.
